Reminisce

In 2012, the United Nations declared play as a universal right to childhood. As we grow up, we begin to neglect the value of play. In a society concerned with individual efficiency, productivity, and profit, where do we make space for play?

Through my work, Reminisce, I encourage you to ignite the child within by integrating play into your day-to-day routine. Allow yourself to lean into the momentary reprieve of this space, immersed in the glowing orbs and floating clouds, in an imaginative state. This serves as a reminder to disconnect from reality and to intentionally lose yourself in something you can’t quite articulate—a timelessness sparked by imagination, intuition, and joy. A feeling you can vividly remember, even if you can’t quite articulate it. The radiant orbs are crafted in a manner reminiscent of my childhood crafting and the clouds offer a written account of memories from that time. The materials and space invite you to open yourself to share the joy of play once again. May you find a space to reflect and to authentically integrate a long-lost habit.
