Lost Lineages

Throughout history in the US  slavery, immigration, and displacements have resulted in a large amount of family lineages being lost over time. Many African Americans, Indigenous, and Immigrant people in the US are affected by the loss of multigenerational stories due to forced disruptions to their lineages. With the loss of those multigenerational stories, many minorities  struggle with relating their personal identity to their missing heritage.

Lost Lineages: The impact of lost multigenerational stories and finding a personal identity, strives to highlight the impact of those lost stories, with a look into personal narratives and identity discovery. Lost Lineages helps bring awareness of the importance of having a connection to one's lineage. While searching to create that connection to a lineage, one can also take steps to develop a personal identity from those lost stories. By sharing personal narratives and resources, this project also brings awareness to viewers who are not affected by the loss of generational stories but can help guide them to provide a hand in helping others.
